Recommendation: A motion is needed to go into a Closed Meeting to discuss the following items and subjects pursuant to Section 2.2-3711 of the Code of Virginia (1950) as amended:

1. The discussion and/or consideration of the Personnel Report regarding prospective candidates for employment, assignment, appointment, promotion, performance, demotion, salaries, disciplining, or resignation of specific employees of the school board, and more specifically as it relates to the following:

A. Resignations of specific instructional and non-instructional employees of Suffolk Public Schools;

B. Disciplinary action of a specific bus driver employed by Suffolk Public Schools;

C. Disciplinary action of a specific teacher employed by Suffolk Public Schools;

D. The hiring of specific instructional personnel;

E. The hiring of specific non-instructional personnel;

F. The hiring of specific part-time employees;

G. The hiring of specific substitute employees;

H. Request for salary stipends for specific substitute bus driver trainees;

I. Request for approval of compensation for specific employees to participate on a Leadership & Data Team at Booker T. Washington Elementary School;

J. Request for approval of specific employees for 2019 middle school soccer and officiating stipends at Colonel Fred Cherry Middle School, Forrest Glen Middle School, John F. Kennedy Middle School, John Yeates Middle School, and Kings Fork Middle School - EOY;

K. Request for approval of specific employees for 2020 volleyball coaching and officiating stipends proposed for Colonel Fred Cherry Middle School, Forest Glen Middle School, John F. Kennedy Middle School, John Yeates Middle School, and Kings Fork Middle School;

L. Request for approval to grant a specific employee to provide half-day instructional planning sessions at Hillpoint Elementary School;

M. Request for approval to grant a specific employee to provide half-day instructional planning sessions at Booker T. Washington Elementary School;

N. Request for approval granting specific employees to receive compensation for after-school tutoring (SOL) for 2019-2020 at Nansemond River High School;

O. Request for approval of compensation for specific employees providing Title I Remediation tutoring at Elephants Fork Elementary School;

P. Request for approval of compensation for specific employees participating as Leadership Team members at Nansemond Parkway Elementary School;

Q. Request for approval of specific employees to receive compensation for after-school tutoring (SOL) and/or after-school detention 2019-2020 at Kings Fork High School;

R. Request for specific employees to work as a homebound special education teachers at King’s Fork Middle School and The College and Career Academy at Pruden for 2019-2020 school year and summer of 2020;

S. Request for specific employees to receive compensation for providing Title I Remediation tutoring at Hillpoint Elementary School;

T. Request for a specific employees to receive compensation for serving as a tutor in the Algebra Readiness Program for 2019-2020 the school year at King’s Fork High School;

U. Request for a specific employee to serve as homebound teacher for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year at Florence Bowser Elementary School;

V. Request for specific employees to provide ELL support for the 2019-2020 school year at Nansemond Parkway Elementary School and Creekside Elementary School, King’s Fork High School, Florence Bowser Elementary School; Northern Shores Elementary School;

W. Request for a specific employee to receive compensation for teaching an extra class of (CTE) Fashion Marketing at King’s Fork High School during the 2019-2020 school year;

X. Request for approval for specific employees to serve as trainees for substitute bus drivers;

Y. Request for specific employees to be removed from the substitute list;
